Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 4, 2026
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Copresent ("Copresent," "we," "us," or "our") and apply to all of Copresent, including our website at copresent.app, the web remote / controller app, and the Copresent Chrome extension (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension, opening a remote link, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Copresent lets multiple people control and co-present a Google Slides presentation together in real time, including using a phone or browser as a remote clicker and viewing speaker notes. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are able to form a binding contract with us.
4. Fees
The Service is currently offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans or features in the future. If we do, we will make the pricing clear before you incur any charge, and paid features will be optional unless we give you advance notice.
5. Sessions and Magic Links
Each presentation session generates a unique link that lets others join and control the deck. You are responsible for who you share your links with and for activity that occurs through links you generate. Treat session links as you would any shared access credential, and end a session when you are finished.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or third-party rights;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- use the Service to transmit content you do not have the right to share, or that is harmful, abusive, or infringing;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, branding, and design, is owned by Copresent and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. Your presentations and content remain yours; nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your content to us, and your use of Google Slides remains governed by your agreements with Google.
8. Third-Party Services
Copresent works alongside Google Slides and relies on third-party providers (including Google Firebase, Amazon Web Services, and PostHog). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. Copresent is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that connections will not drop during a presentation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Copresent and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including presentation interruptions, lost connections, or browser compatibility issues. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $100.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Copresent and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time — uninstall the extension if you installed it, stop using the web remote, and clear your browser's site data to remove locally stored information. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at hello@copresent.app so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
15. General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Copresent regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@copresent.app. Copresent is operated from California, United States.
