How do I put a timer on the classroom screen?

Open this page on the computer connected to the projector, pick a time and press Full screen. Students see the time left in big digits and a ring that shrinks as it runs down.

A visual timer

The ring empties as time passes, so children who can't read a clock yet still see how much is left.

Full screen in one key

Press F. The timer fills the projector, readable from the back of the room.

A warning before the end

It turns yellow near the end and red at zero, with the words “Nearly done” and “Time's up”. A 5-minute timer turns yellow at 1:00 left.

Silent unless you ask

Sound is off until you turn it on. The colours and words do the job on their own.

FAQ

How do I make the timer full screen on the projector?

Press F or the Full screen button. The ring and the digits grow to fill the screen, so the back row can read them. Press Esc to leave full screen.

When does the timer change colour?

It turns yellow and says “Nearly done” for the last fifth of the time, at least 10 seconds and at most a minute. A 5-minute timer turns yellow at 1:00 left. At zero it turns red and says “Time's up”.

Can I add time without starting again?

Yes. Press +1 min, or the + key, while it runs. If time is already up, the extra minute counts from that moment.

Does it make a sound at the end?

Only if you tick “Sound at the end”. Then it plays a short chime when time runs out. Sound is off every time the page opens.

Does it keep time if I switch to my slides?

Yes. It works the time out from the clock instead of counting ticks, so it is right the moment you come back, even after the laptop sleeps.

Do students or I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, nothing is saved, and it works offline once the page has loaded.
