How to use it

Three steps to finishing on time

Set the length

Pick a quick length or type your own, like 12 or 12:30. Each quick length also sets sensible warnings.

Choose your warnings

The display turns yellow at the warning and orange at the final call, and says so in words. Set either to 0 to turn it off.

Go full screen and start

Press Space or Start. Put the window where you can see it. Over time, the clock turns red and counts up with a plus sign.

Example: a 20-minute panel with two speakers and Q&A. Turn on speakers, then add Ana for 8:00, Ben for 8:00 and Q&A for 4:00. The big clock counts down all 20 minutes and warns at 2:00 left. Underneath, it shows “Ben · 3:12 left” so each speaker knows their own time, and with sound on a tone marks each handover.

Keeps time in the background

Switch to your slides, or let the laptop sleep. The timer works from the clock, so it is right the moment you look back.

Nothing leaves your device

No sign-up and no saving. Speaker names stay in this tab and are gone when you close it.

Silent unless you ask

Sound is off until you turn it on. The colours and words do the job on their own.

Presenting with Google Slides? Keep the timer on your phone

Copresent puts a timer, your speaker notes and the slide controls on your phone, so you can see your time without looking back at the laptop. Co-presenters can join from a link.

FAQ

Does the timer keep time if I switch tabs or my laptop sleeps?

Yes. It remembers when you pressed start and works the time out from the clock on every update, rather than counting ticks. Browsers slow down timers in background tabs, but when you come back the display jumps straight to the right time.

Can I use it as a speaker timer for a panel or several presenters?

Yes. Turn on “Split into speakers or sections”, name each part and give it a length. The big display counts down the whole talk, and underneath it shows who is on and how long their part has left.

How do the warnings work without colour?

Every stage has words as well as a colour: “On time”, “Warning”, “Wrap up” and “Time's up”. Over time, the clock shows a plus sign, like +0:42. By default a 10-minute talk warns at 2:00 left and gives a final call at 0:30.

Does it make a sound?

Only if you turn on sound alerts. Then it plays a short tone at the warning, two at the final call, three when time runs out, and one when a new speaker starts. Sound is off every time the page opens.

Can I control the timer from my phone or show it on another screen?

Not this one. It runs in a single browser tab. If you present with Google Slides, Copresent puts a timer, your speaker notes and the slide controls on your phone.

Is anything saved or sent anywhere?

No. The timer runs entirely in your browser and works offline once the page has loaded. Speaker names are never uploaded, saved or put in the page address.
